RTA
RTA Approval and NOC Services in Dubai
The Roads and Transport Authority is involved whenever work affects the public road network: excavation in the right of way, utility connections crossing a road, traffic diversions, parking changes or outdoor advertising structures.
We identify which RTA approval your project needs, prepare the drawings and supporting documents, and coordinate the submission alongside your other authority approvals. As a DEWA approved contractor in Dubai, we can also handle the DEWA approval when the works include electricity cables or connections.
Who this is for
- Contractors carrying out excavation or cable works in the road reserve
- Projects that need a utility connection crossing a public road
- Sites requiring temporary traffic management during works
- Businesses planning roadside or outdoor advertising structures
What we handle
- Confirming whether RTA, Dubai Municipality or a free zone authority governs the work
- Right-of-way NOC applications for excavation and utility works
- Traffic management and diversion drawings where required
- Coordination with other service authorities affected by the works
- Outdoor advertising applications where RTA is the permitting authority

- Close-outCompletion and reinstatement requirements are closed out with the authority.
Documents checklist
Have these ready, or send what you have and we will tell you what is missing.
- Trade licence of the applicant
- Affection plan and site location
- Route or layout drawings of the proposed works
- Method statement and programme
- NOCs from other affected service providers, where requested
How long does it take?
Timelines depend on the type of NOC and whether other service authorities must comment first. We give an estimate once the scope is confirmed.
Common questions
Is shop signage approved by RTA?
Usually not. Shopfront signage is generally permitted by Dubai Municipality, Dubai Economy and Tourism or the relevant free zone authority. RTA is involved mainly for roadside and outdoor advertising structures and works in the road reserve. We confirm the correct authority for your location.
Do I need an RTA NOC to lay a cable to my building?
If the route crosses or runs within the public road reserve, an RTA right-of-way NOC is normally required.
Can you handle the DEWA approval for the same project?
Yes. Coordinating both together avoids gaps between the utility and road approvals.
